Hebrews 8:1-2

¹Here is the main point: Our High Priest sat down in the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. ²There he ministers in the sacred tent, the true place of worship that was built by the Lord and not by human hands.

Reflect

Don’t you like it when someone finally gets to the point of their conversation? The author of Hebrews starts out this chapter with “Here is the main point!” After the long explanation of Melchizedek and Abram and tithing and priests and sacrifices, we get to the main point. What is the main point? That Jesus, God’s Son, who is perfect and is the only one that is worthy to be our representative to God, is now, as you read this, sitting next to God as your advocate. No matter what you have done or what you do, He is ministering on your behalf. And… it isn’t in some temporary tent or building here on earth, it is in the permanent temple. The one that God built.
