- Matthew begins his gospel with a vivid reminder that Jesus, the Son of God, came to earth as a man. He offers painstaking details of Jesus’ genealogy and birth.
- How many names in the genealogy of Jesus do you recognize?
- What range of emotions do you think Joseph felt when Mary was found to be with child, and when he was confronted by the angel?

P – Praise: Lord, thank you for sending your Son Jesus into the world, and for such a masterful description of His birth.
R – Repent: Forgive me for the times I’ve questioned Your actions and ignored Your will.
A – Ask: Help me be like Joseph, who willingly obeyed You, even in the face of potential humiliation.
Y – Yield: What do You have for me to do. I’m Yours, and I’m willing.
