Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 10:7-11. Join us in reading it.
Speaking skills were very important in Paul’s time. Paul was pretty much just the opposite from the golden orator. Even his letters were considered “hard to understand” (2 Peter 3:16). As such, professional teachers could come in and wow the crowds making Paul look like a fool even if they had no substance or truth in what they were saying.

2 Cor: Weapons of Warfare
Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 10:1-6. Join us in reading it.
Paul is facing some people in Corinth that say he is a weak leader, of this world, unenlightened (see Background below). Paul responds saying that he may be human but that his fight is at a higher level and not at the world’s level. His weapons are of divine origin. No matter how strong, how lofty sounding, or logical the world’s arguments are, they are all subject to God and held captive by Him.
One World, One Dream – Standards
There are many standards in this world. What may be standard for one person, isn’t necessarily a standard for someone else. This week, Pastor Bart Wilkins and Pastor Jeff Baker continue our series through the book of 2 Corinthians to tell us what standard God wants us to live by.

2 Cor: Sow Generously
Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. Join us in reading it.
Paul says “God loves a cheerful giver.” That is an oft repeated phrase which also overshadows an important lesson in today’s passage. Yesterday’s passage introduced the fact we should give generously without reluctance. We should be cheerful givers. Today we see why we should cheerfully sow generously.
2 Cor: Generous Gift
Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 9:1-5. Join us in reading it.
God does not want you to give if it is grudgingly given. Sometimes we do need a reminder to give and Paul was sending “the brothers” to help the Corinthians to finish up the collection before he got there. He was doing so in order that there be no appearance of reluctance on the part of the Corinthians to give. But Paul is not trying to strong arm the Corinthians.
2 Cor: Do What Is Right
Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 8:16-24. Join us in reading it.
Doing what is right before God and man is something we must take pains to do. Our walk is closely watched by those around us and by God. Paul recognized this fact in all aspects of his ministry to the Gentiles, no more so than in regards to the collection for the church in Jerusalem.
One World, One Dream – Finances
This week we continue our study through the book of 2 Corinthians with a message on Finances!

2 Cor: Give Like Christ
Today’s passage is 2 Corinthians 8:7-15. Join us in reading it.
Christ is our prime example in all things. Paul urges the church in Corinth to follow Christ’s example when it comes to giving. Jesus gave up everything for us that we might be redeemed. In the same way, we should not be stingy, holding on to what we have. Instead, we should give back to God and His people according to what God has given us.
