Paul’s Labor (Part 2): Colossians 2:1-5
Today’s passage is Colossians 2:1-5.  Please join us in study.

The enemy of God attacks our minds. In the Body of Christ, we are protected, encouraged, and trained in the wisdom and knowledge of God so that we are not beguiled by “fine-sounding arguments.”  It is  plain that our walk with Christ is not an instant or solo effort. We have a life long journey with others in the Body of Christ as we prepare for eternity (1 Peter 4:7-11). There may be times when our hearts must be encouraged when they become despondent in the effort to understand the mystery of the Gospel. Hearts must be knit together in love, as we struggle together to understand that mystery. Let us be like Paul and exert ourselves for each other, that we might stand strong.

My Three: Paul’s Labor for the Church

Paul’s Labor for the Church: Colossians 1:24-29
Today’s passage is Colossians 1:24-29.  Please join us in study.

On the road to Damascus, Paul was confronted by Jesus in a blinding flash of light. When Paul asked Jesus who he was, Jesus replied, “I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.” Paul carried this throughout his life. He recognized that when Christians are persecuted, Jesus Himself suffers. Jesus said himself to the disciples that they should not wonder about why they are being persecuted since He was being persecuted (John 15:20). Paul wasn’t rejoicing that he was suffering, rather, he was rejoicing that he was participating in the work and ministry of Christ on behalf of others.
