God’s Assistance: Joshua and the Battle of Jericho (Joshua 1-6)
Moses led Israel on an epic exodus from Egypt till his death in Moab, just outside the Promised Land across the Jordan River. It was now Joshua’s turn to actually take the Promises Land. The Lord spoke to Joshua and told him that he would be successful as long as he was obedient: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8, NIV).
