The two fundamental assumptions of these past five weeks of study have been a) there is a realm that exists outside of and impacts our natural world called the supernatural and b) each of us is a supernatural being, with an origin and roots outside of this natural world and a destiny to return to that supernatural realm. In the course of this study, we have covered an enormous amount of Scripture, ranging literally from the first verses of the Bible to the last, and looked at some of the fundamental concepts that drive the relationship between the natural and supernatural.
Today’s passage is Revelation 21-22. Please join us in study.
During the course of this study, we have touched on the importance of position as part of Bible Study 101. The items of greatest importance tend to come in the last positions, much like Santa being the last float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. These are the last chapters of the last book of the entire Bible. It is hard to imagine a position of any greater importance. Everything that began in Genesis and has transpired throughout both the Old and New Testaments is being wrapped up in this book of Revelation and these chapters are completing the book. We need to listen and take to heart what is being said here.
Today’s passage is Revelation 19-20. Please join us in study.
Once again, we are back in the Book of Revelation. Today and tomorrow, we will cover the last four chapters of that book in order to look at the end of the End Times and get some idea of what that end will look like so that we can be encouraged and encourage one another as we face the world today and the challenges it contains.
Today’s passage is 2Thessalonians 2. Please join us in study.
In our passage for today, we see Paul concerned for the Thessalonians who are in a panic, thinking that they somehow missed the return of Christ. He teaches us that there are certain events that have to happen before the return of Christ.
Today’s passage is 1Thessalonians 4-5. Please join us in study.
The question of what happens after we die is one oft debated in the world. But we who follow Christ have no debate; we have hope and belief in eternal life with Christ. That is the message Paul teaches us in this passage.
Today’s passage is Matthew 24. Please join us in study.
“Few chapters of the Bible have called forth more disagreement among interpreters than Matthew 24 and its parallels in Mark 13 and Luke 21.” D. A. Carson (The Expositor’s Bible Commentary, ed. Frank E. Gaebelein vol. 8, p. 488). And so we tread carefully in our overview of this passage. The basic problem: a multipart question has been asked and answered but putting the answers to the right questions has been problematic. Let’s look at the questions and see if we can give guidance to what Jesus’ answers were.
Jeff Baker concludes our Supernatural series with a message about standing firm until the end of days.
